Turning an air conditioner on and off frequently to save money doesn't work. The unit has to work harder and waste more money into the bargain to "catch up". If you turn it on, LEAVE IT ON. I turn my central air on when it hits 29C and off when it drops below 26C. And yeah, I have the electrical bills to prove my point.

Interestingly enough this is true for all electronics. 28 degrees Celsius is a fairly nice temperature and by using a fan money can be saved.
