Printers are cheap, it's the ink that's stupid expensive. That's the only way those companies make money. Making things that are meant to be cheap, expensive.

I was about to print some fun things on a couple pieces of paper. I have a PX-5500 Roll-sheet Epson printer which requires 8 inks. Not just 4, 8. Anyway, as I was about to print the printer warned me that Light Magenta was low, and it would not let me print anything. NOT FUN AT ALL, EPSON. This is NOT FUNNY. I can't even print a god damn black and white picture?! Is this what companies do nowadays just to squeeze a couple bucks?! <--- ok I know they do that.

Yeah, I know, it stops so that it doesn't print crap out. Sure. Probably the best excuse I heard so far from all companies. Auto-stops just so it saves you paper. *clap*

Epson, you and I have been good friends. I like your printers, I like the quality, I also like HP, but I think Epson is superior in terms of printing technology. Of course, Epson, we're having rough times economically. But still, this is cheating. This is using technology against my will to print a picture for fun.

It's ridiculous that this is what you do to your customers.

So Epson, while you may have not heard me, you'll see another sale of ink. What you won't see is a happy customer. Yes, I'm buying ink because I'm fucking pissed off. And I'll be happy for the 300 pages it can soak paper with, then I'll be really really unhappy again.

Epson, companies, et al. MAKE YOUR INKS CHEAPER, AFFORDABLE, AND NOT RIDICULOUS LIKE IT IS NOW. Put some science into it. Stop making me feel broke every time I buy your ink.

Ok? Thanks,

I agree completely. I've got an Epson printer as well - same deal. I love the printer but it costs me an arm and a leg to buy inks, and it also stops printing. It should be our choice to waste paper if we want to. I want to print until the ink cartridge is completely dry.

By the way, I wouldn't use the refill method. I've tried alternate inks and they have only ever mucked up my printer. As soon as I take out other, cheaper inks and put in new Epson cartridges everything is fine again. Alternate inks might be cheaper but when you have to throw them away after printing 2 or 3 prints you've just wasted that money and have to go buy the Epson cartridges anyway. That's my experience anyway.

That's is exactly why we buy fake aka illegal ink *runs off*

But seriously, my multi-thingie wouldn't SCAN because it ran out of ink. Like, wut?!!

Oh btw if you want an affordable method there's the ink-refill sort of thing out there. It's really what I'm not talking about. ;)

But indeed, it's cheap.

I once read an article that said that printer ink was far more expensive than blood. That really got me thinking :B
