I remember when I played Everquest 4 nerd-lifetimes ago. I once spent 4 hours in a row on it. Becoming conscious of the fact that I was considering buying a laptop so that I could play everquest on the shitter, I immediately closed my account, uninstalled the game, and decided that I was never going to play it again.
Really funny man. I would like to point out that myspace isn't the only online social community that can cause destruction in real life.
I think the problem is largely because young people who feel insecure about themselves go onto these places and find they're accepted much easier then in real life. Social lives are much easier to build over these networks. You get applauded for things you would never get applauded for in real life.
And even though Myspace doesn't have a warning label, addiction clinics all over the world are starting to acknowledge the problem of internet addictions.
It's a good thing Deviantart is promoting such good things... I mean it might be just as socially destructive (although i don't seem to find it's designed to do that). But since it all revolves around art i think that makes a big difference. Art can be such a positive thing for people in real life, and if a young person comes on here looking for social acceptance and finds it through art, i think thats a lot easier to apply in real life as a positive.
Did i just make a lengthy and serious post to your comic? lol.
